Import Contacts

Gatsby has built CSV importer functionality into the product so that users can easily import existing clients into Gatsby Contacts. Located in the top right corner of the contacts dashboard under “All Contacts”, the importer is easy to use. Don’t lose valuable data ever again!


Let’s Import some Contacts!

  • Step 1

    While in contacts dashboard, click Import in the top right corner.

    A window opens where you will choose a file. Before choosing the file, it is good practice to download the example CSV.

    Replace the information in the example CSV, paying attention to the column headings. You will need a minimum of name and email for the import to be successful.

    Save your CSV.

    Click Choose File and continue.

  • Step 2

    Gatsby will now go through a four-point process to identify fields and look for errors or discrepancies. If there are no errors or discrepancies, it will skip that process.

    Use the drop-down beside each column name to skip, rename or add a new field. Try it out!

    Errors are outlined in red so you can easily identify.

    Scroll to the end to see that all fields match correctly.

    Once you are happy with the import, click next.

  • Step 3

    Gatsby will show you a quick review of what they are importing. You can also save the list to a group by typing in the ‘Search to add to Group’ field.

    Click Import.

    The import is complete and these contacts will be added.
