Uploading & Exporting Contacts
Gatsby lets you upload contacts directly to events, lists, or your contact book, and export them when needed. You can handle bulk imports via CSV and manage custom fields during the process.
Upload a CSV
Section titled “Upload a CSV”-
Start the upload
Click the dropdown arrow next to “Add Guests” and select “Upload CSV.”
-
Upload your file
Choose your CSV file. You need at minimum a name and email column for the upload to work. Download the sample file if you need a template.
-
Map your fields
Match your CSV columns to Gatsby fields or create new custom fields as needed.
-
Resolve duplicates
Review any duplicate contacts and choose how to handle them.
Exporting Contacts
Section titled “Exporting Contacts”-
Select contacts
From your guest list or list table, use the checkboxes to select the contacts you want to export.
-
Access export options
Click “More Options” in the green menu that appears at the top.
-
Export to CSV
Select “Export to CSV” to download your file.
The exported CSV will include whatever columns you have enabled in your table view.
Can I bulk add tags?
Yes, but only after uploading contacts. Select the contacts you want to tag, choose “Adjust Tags” from the green menu, click “Bulk Add Tags,” then select or create your tag.
What’s the best practice for uploading contacts?
Upload to a List first if you plan to use the same contacts across multiple events. This keeps your contact book organized and makes future event planning easier.
Where can I upload CSVs?
You can upload to any Event, List, or directly to your contact book.
I made a mistake during upload. Can I revert it?
Go to your contacts page, click the “Imports” tab, find your recent import, select the affected contacts, add them to a “Contacts to Delete” List (create one if needed), then go to that List and archive the contacts through “More Options.”
