Guest List Issues

Resolve duplicate guests, CSV import errors, missing data, bulk updates, and export problems in your Gatsby guest lists.

Duplicate guests appearing

Prevent going forward

Use the “Other emails” field in your guests’ profile for de-duplication of personal vs work emails.


Same person, multiple entries

Select duplicates » More Options » Merge Contacts » review what gets combined » confirm.

CSV import not working

  • Check required columns: First Name, Last Name, Email (minimum)
  • Remove special characters (especially commas) from headers and data
  • Remove extra headers/labels
  • Save as CSV (not Excel format)
  • Ensure consistent email formatting

Large imports timing out

Break into smaller batches (under 1,000 rows). Upload in multiple chunks rather than one massive file.

Missing guest data

Contacts disappeared

Check filters and views. Clear all filters to see everyone. Guests might be hidden by RSVP status or section filters.


Columns not enabled

Use Columns drawer to enable more fields. Use Add Fields option to add Contact fields.


Section minimized

Expand sections on the guest list to reveal guests.

Bulk operations

Need to update multiple guests at once

Select guests » Edit Column Values in green toolbar. Change RSVP status, custom fields, or attendance for multiple people.


Mass email to specific guests

Select guests » Send Message in green toolbar. Create targeted campaigns to filtered guest lists.


Removing many guests

Select guests » More Options » Remove from Event. This doesn’t delete contacts from your database, just removes from this event.

Can I export to Excel?

Yes, CSV export

  • Select guests on guest list » More Options » Export to CSV.
  • Includes whatever columns you have visible in your current view.

CSV export is missing data

CSV export includes only visible columns in your current view. Add columns first, then export.

Shared views showing wrong data

Update delay. Large guest list views get cached. Revisit the link to rebuild cache.

Accidentally deleted important guests

Check Restore Guests under “Add Guests” option in your event.
